General

Why no RFID?
Nuesmart is moving to technology which focuses on elevating the requirement to carry items such as RFID cards and fobs.

Why no NFC?
Nuesmart lock is NFC ready, but we are currently looking into higher level technology solutions.

Why no Bluetooth?
Nuesmart lock is Bluetooth ready. Application concepts are currently in R&D.

Will the NS1000 come in any other colours than white/black?
Not in the immediate future.

Is the NS1000 suited for outdoor usage?
Depending on the application and exact location. Outdoor use is possible, but on a case-by-case basis.

Can the customer change batteries themselves?
Yes, very easily.

How durable is the keypad?
The keypad has a harden plastic, protective coating to act against damage from applications such as (but not limited to); finger nails, sharpen objects and heavy, over-regular use.

How will customers know when batteries are low / due for replacement?
The front face ‘low battery’ LED will be illuminated for easy visibility. Security measures of the lock provides a one-time open function upon low battery, and then lock is disabled until batteries are changed.

What is the striker plate tolerance / strength?
Withstand 90kg-f (~890N) before breaking.

What is the latch strength?
Over 100kg-f before showing signs of weakening.

Will the battery life improve?
Yes, each new revision of our hardware we improve battery life more and more.

How does the App and Lock connect to each other?
Wi-Fi pairing.

Will the App be available on iOS?
Yes, currently aimed for Q3 2019.

Is there any other method a lock can be administered other than from the App?
Currently, no.

Will Nuesmart provide a SDK?
In the future yes, but we cannot put a time-frame on it.

Does the NS1000 have regulatory compliance standards?
Yes. FCC, CE & RCM.

What sort of diagnostics does the NS1000 have?
Built in monitoring for components such as (but not limited to); low battery, latch errors and general connectivity problems (if any).
